digitalbonsai.com/dagrules-draft/This is the revised and re-issued edition of the Dagorhir rules. A lot of our new users have had several weapon inquiries and the likes of that... I wanted to post this as a way to get everyone on track as to the core rules themselves. EDIT: The MOA has been updated since these revisions! Newest version can be found here: www.dagorhir.com/dagorhir/Rules.htm

I want everyone who hasn't read these rules to read them now. Even if you have had the rules "explained" to you on the field. If you've read the old rules, but not the new ones, or even if it has been a while since you've read the Dagorhir rules, read them again.
Once you have read them over, post here to acknowledge that you have. Especially rules for limb damage, being legged, dying, etc.
As incentive, I will be eventually putting together a bit of a test that I will be giving at one of our practices. There may or may not be a prize to the person who can recall the most.

I read them, and they cleared up some questions I have had, such as grappeling and soforth.

I find this statement odd. "5.1.11 - Armor protection against blue weapon strikes is not eliminated due to a previous yellow or two-handed green weapon hit." I think I understand this, but some clarification would help. Seeing as yellows and greens only disable the limb, the blue protection still remains, if only to ward off actually losing the limb, which would count towards the two limb count?

Yellow and green weapons do not do anything to armor. thus if you were stabbed in an armored arm, and then slashed with a blue, you would have lost the armor, but nothing else. Double-greens however, bypass armor, and so allow you to make with the stabby, even if someone is wearing full armor.

look at it from the realism stadn point. A yelloe weapon is a projectile piercing weapon, and a green weapon is a hand held peircing weapon. Now it some one takes a spear and thrusts through my armor, it's gonna leave a nasty hole in my leg, but the hole in the armor will not affect the frotection that much. Unless your really accurate with sword cuts. So If pierced limbs are only disabled, and youve been yellowed(armorpiercing) or double greened(armorpiercing) your arm is dongling by your side, but the armor on it is still protecting it from being more damaged aka a blue strike. I hope that clears it up. It's a trikey rule though, best bet is to take almost all limb shots like a blue to avoid confusion, and making people question your honor. And if you think you can take a person with one or two pierced limbs, tell them which ones are so they can better underswtand why you killed them after they took a leg and began to walk away.(sorry for grammar and punctuation, havn't had enough coffe yet, haha!

Rules Clarifications for me.
6.5 - If both knees are on the ground, and the leg wound is from a hacking or smashing weapon then any hit to either leg is considered a hit on the good leg. (This is something I've noticed a lot, so yay happy me.)
6.6 - If the target is lunging/rolling around and has a wounded leg (hacking or smashing) and is hit in either leg (even the one already hit) it is considered a hit on the good leg (Again, another thing)
6.9 - At no time may the dead speak to the living, unless it is to shout a safety warning that is “outside” of Dagorhir combat; e.g., “Look out, you're about to step off a cliff!” (As Guiden clearly says, Why would we be fighting NEAR A CLIFF?) (This also means that people can't say, look out behind you when dead. The dead don't speak fuckers)
3.3.1 - Torso: shoulders (including arm sockets), chest, stomach, crotch, sides, back, and buttocks (This also means, that if I hit you right in the side where if you turned just slightly, it's still a torso shot. I think. So, we can stop calling those leg shots. (Clarify if this is not the case. i'd hate to scream out in combat, I HIT YOU IN THE DAMN TOP THEIGHS YOUR DEAD SIMPLETON and it not be true and make an even MORE ASS of myself. I mean come on, Blame the healer.))
6.2 - When killed, scream and fall to a prone position on the ground( We should be practicing this. Even in Round Robin. I know it may not be wise to fall face first into the gym floor, but at least scream and die.)
So basically, yeah, I've reread the rules. Oh yeah! One more thing that pissed me off as an archer.
4.5.3.12 - If a weapon accidentally blocks an arrow from hitting a target, the arrow is considered to have hit the target anyway.
Someone was holding the weapon in front of them, and I hit them with an arrow. We didn't count it, and I'm not mad, but now we know in this circumstance that would of been a kill shot. Glad we read these rules.
Anyway, back to building my sheild.

It was linked to on the official dag forums, I guess the main site is barely ever updated, at least the main portions of it. Small updates and all but the big core stuff almost never gets modified.

I just read it and here's a few things I found interesting.
4.8.3 - Players may shield bash an opponent on their front or side. Bashing an opponent from the rear is prohibited. Bashing an opponent who has lost a leg is prohibited.
4.10.2 - If a blow strikes a sheathed weapon (i.e., one that is attached/hanging from one's belt or over one's back) or any other worn object, including baggy clothing such as cloaks, the attack is considered to have hit the fighter. A weapon must be in a fighter's hand to intercept an attack.
The part about garb was a little revealing.
5.1.13 - No one wearing armor or ridged safety gear may initiate grappling.

Huh.. the garb part kinda goes against the new striking rule though, about it stopping the blade... Would need clarification, honor rules over all though, you feel the hit, take it. Everything else looks in order though. Shield bashing from behind = Ouch.

I was thinking more of the on one leg thing. I've seen it a couple times.
