Don't get me wrong, I'm not against restrictions being put into place, as long as they're reasonable and adhered to. I'm not much a fan of the waiting period thing, but the idea that Wilhelm presented sounds like a winner. The idea of more weapon checking is a must, also. I think that dovetails with the archery safety thing, especially. Making sure a sword doesn't hit too hard is a good idea, but regularly checking arrowheads to assure nobody gets shish kabob'd should go without saying. All in all, I believe this needs to happen but with a well thought out plan, not a half-assed rule put in place as a knee jerk reaction to any recent incidents/injuries. That being said, there will probably be need for more structure like this taking into account the speed that our realm has been growing. The sooner we can figure these things out, the easier and safer it will be for everyone. That's my opinion on all that. Thank you for humoring my incoherent babbling. Good night.

Well here is my two cents.
Weapon Checks need to be preformed every practice to ensure safety. Weapons break down over time, etc...Doesn't take that long to check weapons especially if us vets pitch in and just get it done.
Restricting noobs to certain weapons...is a tough one. I like the idea of if your new you need to go off to the side with a vet or two or what not and go thru some training...safety training, control, etc... Just makes sense...restricting people will just piss them off and not serve our cause of growing more members. Bows on the other hand I think should have a time frame before allowed...just like at Rag....if its your first time at rag you can't use a bow on the field...other than that...anything is fair game. Bows are the most dangerous of the weapons I assume.
Its dagorhir and injuries are going to happen. Its how we handle them when they happen.
At the beginning of practices I myself and i'm hoping other vets will do the same will take time for those who want to learn and practice on a smaller scale...1v1 maybe 2v2 to learn techniques, styles, control, etc.... Don't be afraid as a new player to Dag to come up to myself or most vets and say, "Hey think we could do some 1 on 1 so i can get better." We all love the big fights but the little fights make us all get even better for the big fights.
First aid kit is a must.
Most of the vets in our group use most weapon combinations very effectively ask for advice/help. The only way to get better is to fight better people.

I mean, it isn't called practice for nothing! Practice is so that you get better and since I have really no martial arts or fighting experience before dagorhir except for fighting with plastic light sabres as a kid, I want to get better fighting. Fortunately, there are a few fighting videos on the internet, but there needs to be that hands-on element in order to learn and I really hope we can do more one on one fighting to help improve our overall technique
