Wow... What a day, when I left practice today I zipped over to Joann's and picked up some linen to create my tunic-dress and cape and the tunic is eighty percent finished after working all day on it the moment I got home. I will definitely show pictures when I get the chance because it is really turning out. Oh yes, and I believe I have the perfect boots and belt and even a pouch I made at girl scout camp eons ago that would work (maybe to carry scrolls with healing poems later or something?) Anyways, knitting... I am an avid knitter and have been knitting since the age of 12 and would it be good if I incorporate knitting into my garb like a hat or this coif (the non chain mail kind) provided that the yarn is an appropriate color (not technicolor pink for instance but rather something like say, olive green or this aran fleck yarn I'm using) This is the pattern I'm using by the way and it is obviously not the color in the picture, but rather a sort of cream color... www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring03/PATTcoif.html

That depends on what persona you play, and how accurate you want to be. Most of us are Vikings, but you could also be someone who the Vikings had direct contact with.
As far as I know, Vikings didn't knit, but they did do a series of knotting that was similar to knitting. They also did card weaving and used looms to make patterns to decorate their clothes.

Just to clarify
The Welcrie (Unit) is open to any and all. Mercenaries and the unwanted come to the Haven of the Welcrie. All personas are alowed fantacy and historical.
The Vetrvaldyr unit that is restricted to Viking age and is historically acurate.

Eh, that's fine, I sort of had a medieval fantasy setting in my head inspired by a combination of Dragon Quest and real life history.
