I figured that'd be a good title, since I'm sure I'm not the only newb with a ton of questions.
Could someone clarify what the difference between "green" and "blue" and "red" and "black" weapons are? And what exactly legging is. And just a bunch of information like that that I don't know since I'm new. Also, how would you "win" using a polearm? I mean, unless it were a scythe or halberd then, how would you dearm/kill an opponent?
Also, just so you know I plan on coming to practice this Sunday, so if I don't have answers by then, I'll be asking questions then.

Blue: Basic one-handed weapon. Be it sword, club, flail, axe, etc etc. It's any weapon under a specific length and weight that is SWUNG with one hand (or two, so long as it's not big enough to be considered a red weapon) Takes two hits to get through armor, cannot break shields.
Red: A large two-handed weapon. Can go straight through armor. Two solid hits to a shield will break it.
Green: Stabbing weapons. Thrusted attack, Doesn't affect shields, goes straight through armor IF both hands are on it from start to finish.
Yellow: Projectile. counts as double-green, CAN hit face.
White: Rocks. Instant death IF it hits head. ONLY effects head.
Black: Siege weapons. counts as quadruple red. (read: instant death as soon as it hits anywhere on you, even shield.)

All right, thanks Wilhelm. How do you get enough weight on arrows to make them fly far enough without them being too dangerous? Or any projectile for that matter?

Arrows... generally don't need much help, since they are actual arrows. the proper padding process keeps them flying right. Same with Javelins, it's pretty much weighted fine due to the core, then it's just a matter of flying straight. Rocks... well... not much you can do but use slightly denser open cell.

Nope, not for first timers. I mean, if you have garb and wanna wear it we're certainly not going to discourage! lol But not required.

Glad to see you here.
Yeah as much as I'd like garb to be mandatory, it is not, 2/3rds of the attendants to our practice have no garb whatsoever.
But thats the good thing about dag, you put into it what you want to take out of it, and have fun with whatever you do.

Okay also it was hard for me to find a exact time for practices on sunday. I was wondering I would need to bring my own weapons or if you have some for me to use.

Same kinda answer as the garb question: if you have em, by all means bring em! Its always great to see noobs at their first practice with weapons, even if they fail... and they usually do. lol But if you haven't made any yet, not a big deal. We have stuff for you to use.

Yeah I have about 10 weapons in all because I was expecting to have to start from scratch for a chapter. I'll try to make it to the practice at NMC.

Well, its good to know you have initiative..!
The Welcrie have some low-end loaner weapons for the increasing number of members who, for every 3 there is only 1 who makes their own stuff, so most of the loaner gear that isn't breaking down gets grabbed pretty quick.
Either way it'd be a good idea to bring your own, if you can. I'll weapon test them all and make sure they all pass, then you're good to go.
