So, because of the new rules..
Ax:
The Ax has defined edges and flats. Single Edge axes use rule 4.1.11.2.2. This means that along the flat it needs to measure a minimum of 2.5”, and that it must have tape along the back; or non-striking side of the blade. It must also resemble the shape of an Ax. The ax blade must conform to the standard 1.25” min width. Again, the handle cannot extend past 1/3 the total length of the weapon, and adequate courtesy padding should be added wherever necessary. Two sided axes need to use the 3-inch rule 4.1.11.2.1 for the first 12 inches or to handgrip. Blades may extend past the 3” as desired.
Im sorry Wilhelm :/ I have to retire my axes too.. :/

Wait, so what part does it fail?
And, when did this rule get passed?? I thought it had to be war-council to get a new rule passed, then it went into effect permenantly the next rag?
EDIT: I'm finding nothing on the Dag site... where did you hear about this?

Rhiannon and I ran the tests.... The axe passes?
I think you may have misunderstood the rules, we went over it and it's pretty much the basic blue rules, just melded to fit an axe. the 2.5 inch flat means the SIDES of the axe... We may need shiny tape on the back depending on the tester, but everything else looks golden.

www.dagorhir.com/forums/index.php?topic=18240.0From what im seeing in this discussion, you ahve to have 12 inches of striking surface on an axeblade, though i may be mistaken, and just have to add padding to the haft of the axe so it can be striking surface too

Yeah from the way it looks, swords and clubs need a 12 inch striking surface, single-edged axes are fine, and double-edged axes need a 3" courtesy padding of 12 inches
