So, I've found a few options as far as shield foam goes. -------------------------------------------- Firstly, for those of you who want or could go either way about a round shield, there's Warlord Sports: www.warlordsports.com/Click on gear, scroll down to accessories > Shield Blanks $22 ain't too bad for a 28" round shield, thats around the size of mine. We may eventually use these guys for community shields. The rest of their stuff is kinda stick-jockish, and their polearms are ridiculously "Umm wat?" so yeah, stick to the shield sections. --------------------------- Second, if you want NON-round shields... Polyethylene foam is great, though you'll want at least 2" thickness. Heres one source, though it's only the first one I found, others, especially local places, may have it cheaper. www.closedcellfoams.com/polyethylene.html------------------------------ I'll post more as I find em.

I have found that old Saucers for sledding work well for a round sheild. There legal in armtgar but I don't know about dagorhir. It can pass all requirements but looks weird from the back.

Yep, my last punch shield was a plastic saucer sled.
The main trick to saucers is getting good coverage and connection of the foam to the dome-shape of the sled, a flat surface is ALWAYS easier. And what eventually did my shield in was storing it. If anything was on top of it, or it was squeezed in anywhere, it slowly flattened and starting damaging the foam AND the plastic.
So yes, sleds make a good shield core, but don't expect them to last forever if you are an aggressive shield fighter or have little storage space, flat cores are always sturdier and more convenient.
