Just so people know, I've used high temp/dual temp glue. The more expensive stuff *does* hold up better, this last batch is from glu-stix.com and works great. Also, that looks like a forum flame war similar to one I witnessed on Chevy vs Ford. It's not against the rules, and that's mainly what I care about.
As a side note, Dual temp seems to hold up better, because it's made to handle being used at high or low temps. The stuff actually gets tacky in my bare hand. If you spend some time looking through the site though, they have sticks that would work perfect for us, as they're made to hold up in cold weather as well. Plus, they have a 12v glue gun with a cigarette lighter attachment on it, which would work perfect for events and such.

The main thing I'm worried about it the rigid pointy pieces it creates on the sides, those would kill on a flat, or even more so if you hit someone bare skin and skimmed them with the side. Show me a weapon where you've taken the care to remove the glue overflow and make the edges smooth, then I'll look it over.
And yes, I realize there isn't really one strong side or the other over there. But nothing ever is there. I just wanted to leave the link so you could see what other people were saying about their trials of using it, good or bad.

Actually, I did a flat test with Nom, hitting him with the side. He said he couldn't feel them. That's just my swords though, they are pretty wide. Also, I found a way to deal with that and help them hold up longer. While the glue is still hot, I run a piece of newspaper or something down the side where the glue is sticking out. It pushes it into the cracks, and stops the little nubs from forming.

I honestly don't have a problem with your weapons other than the hard side bits... Really I'm not too worried about it myself or at our practices, rather just hoping to find every way to satisfy errant weapon checkers at other events. lol
