A little while ago, I found a source for high quality Carbon fiber tubing. The only problem, is that the company is in Australia. The tubing itself is quite cheap, and I'd like to know if anyone would be interested in pitching in to get some cores, we should be able to cut down on the shipping and split costs. I was also informed if this became a real possibility, some of the money granted to our group by NMC may be put forward to help pay for these cores.
so...who all is interested? (I'll find the site and put up a link as soon as I can)

Hmmmm.... carbon fiber. Now, I'm no genius, I know of it's uses... But what kind of properties would it have as a weapon core? Has it been mentioned before? This might be my sickness but I can't seem to formulate it. I'd be interested.
Regardless, good find, Shar.
Also, my brother would like to know when anyone else wants to make an archery foam gathered splurge... he needs some for the haunt, and would rather order more than just one sheet and spread the shipping.

Carbon fiber is reasonably light, pretty stiff, and there's basically nothing that you could do to break it...at all...ever...>.> (only a slight overstatement)

The pole is something like Ban shop poles and the group would be willing to purchase some extra for the loaner gear, just to clarify.

Do want. But...uhh...i'm not sure that I want to pay that kind of money...$100+ for a spear core!? I think perhaps you misinterpreted the pricing scale.

something to notice? those are prices per meter...and it's also in Australian dollars...which is worth about 63 cents.

Yeah, especially when you can buy a finished polearm for cheaper from edhellen... Bandshoppe poles are still the way to go for good long cores. geddon.org/index.php/Bandshoppe_pole(forgive the belegarthness)
