As some of you may or may not know my glave has broken several times. If you have any suggestions on what core works good please let me know as well as where to get it. A map (or a link to one) would be nice because I can't take directions

You poor thing, that sucks so much. lol What core did you use the second time? And wasn't your first one bamboo? Cuz from what I understand that works really good if ya can find a piece without any cracks in it. I got the bamboo for Wilhelm's glave at Michael's in TC.

Yep, if you get bamboo, get it nice and green if possible, and make sure there are no splits or cracks, as Rhiannon said.
Then, your first step before doing ANYTHING else, take a damp cloth and kinda keep wiping up and down the pole to take a bit of the green off of it. Next, cover the length in duct tape trying to use as sparingly little as possible, this will prevent splintering and major shattering. After that, build it up as normal. and try to pad the shaft with one piece of blue foam as opposed to multiple pieces, that way there are no weak points in that either.

Thanks I'll try the bamboo one more time with the tips you guys gave me
Both other times i used bamboo as the core
on a side note i savaged the old core into a javelin which should be legal (my scale isn't vary accurate but it shouldn't much more than a pound)

Hmmm... bamboo core javvy? should be interesting if it turns out legal.
All else fails and you really really want a glaive, find some more people who want good polearms and invest in some bandshop pole... shipping is a bitch when you can only get it online, which is why it's better to do a larger order and save on it by splitting the cost of shipping

Try getting some rattan, if you can.

Phoenix put his full weight on the band pole I used for my spear and it didn't budge if that can give you an example.
Thing about bandshop poles is that while being indestructible, they are on the heavy side. So you want to make it with minimum materials as possible without turning it unsafe.
My spear is very light for a bandshop pole, and I only need to add another piece of blue foam for the stabbing tip, which won't add alot.
Though it will be different for a glaive because of the neccessity to add more padding for a striking edge. Good luck!
