www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTTSTKesjGQI found this video on making Chainmail rings but i could find a easy way to close the rings, Because I am not able to weld it. I heard you can just twist it but I didn't know if it would be legal.

Also, if you really want to weld it, a soldering iron might do the trick.

This is a 14 gauge 3/8th inch Steal 4/1 butted chain shirt. Very easy to make. If you'd like a walk through on how to put the stuff together let me know and I'll bring my kit to practice with me.

If I got the wire, could I use your rig to make the rings? I really want to start playing with mail and adds to my dag gear

Mail is great but i'm gonna warn you now it takes time and is very heavy. I'll see if I can get my ring maker so to speak and bring it to next practice. make sure what ever dowel (sp) u use for spinning your wire on is metal. Wooden dowels have a tendancy to make different shape rings. Here is a sweet sweet machine that I will either break down and buy one with tax money this year or my step dad might try and make for me....if I get that we can crank out rings like no other....which is the longest process of making chain...(cutting the rings) The rest isn't so bad. its called the ringinator... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl54XoTSfIQOn a side not...don't buy a cheap pair of wire cutters. Like I said I will either try and bring my ring maker with me or try and draw it up...its really simple.
